Each school year, AISCA members are required to submit information about their school and current contacts so AISCA can maintain an accurate membership database for internal use. Please complete each line below with your school’s current information.

Note: Every member’s school name, logo, address, and student offerings appear on www.aisca.ab.ca and www.educatedchoices.

The following information is required to renew your membership.

We require your consent to send you emails. AISCA will communicate with you about the following:

Sending memos, newsletters, policy briefs, membership, and meeting information to all school societies, private ECS operators, independent schools, private universities, and other institutions based on the area of relationship and relevance.
Relaying DSA support services related to teacher certification supports, permanent certificate evaluations, new principal orientation, and teacher induction workshops.
Updates for ECS operators regarding inclusion supports, school leadership initiatives or other new provincial initiatives. From time to time, we conduct focus groups and training sessions and assist in resolving concerns and issues with various levels of government.
Educational advocacy and policy work as an additional benefit to general support services.
Working with communication and marketing specialists from our schools and ECS’s to ensure our advocacy and messaging efforts are consistent and proactive.
Communicating with participants of the AISCA Energy Management Program.

*** If your school authority (the board or a designated representative of the board) wishes to unsubscribe, please let the AISCA office know by send a notice from the school authority to [email protected] stating “Please remove (school name) from AISCA’s email list.” Kindly include the name of the person authorizing the decision to opt out.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT

Our ECS/School Society/Association hereby applies for membership in the Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta for the 2025-2026 school year. We agree with the Objects and By-laws of the Association and choose to participate in the Association’s objectives (listed below). APPLICATION

We the undersigned, hereby declare that we desire to form a Society under The Societies Act, and that:

1. The name of the Society is: Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta.
2. The objects of the Society are as follows:
3. To support and encourage high standards of education in the independent schools and colleges of the Province of Alberta.
4. To make known and foster public understanding of the aims, ideals, philosophies and services of the independent schools and colleges of the Province of Alberta.
5. To develop and foster understanding and co-operation:
  - among Alberta's independent schools and colleges,
  - between Alberta's independent schools and colleges and other educational institutions in Alberta
  - between Alberta's independent schools and colleges and the Government of the Province of Alberta
  - between this association and similar associations in other provinces of Canada.
6. To promote the following principles, namely that:
  - parents have the duty and the prior right to educate their children.
  - in a pluralistic society different and distinctive educational philosophies can be reflected in a variety of educational institutions which can make significant contributions to society's educational system.
  - public authorities have the obligation and responsibility to promote democratic freedom by assuring equal educational opportunity for all students.
  - public authorities have an obligation to treat those parents who wish to exercise their right to a choice in education outside the school system established by public authorities with financial equity.
  - an independent school should have the right to devise a curriculum fully compatible with its articulated philosophy of education.
  - a school's curriculum should at least have among its goals the provision of the opportunity for each child to the limits of his or her potential:
    - a) to acquire the basic skills fundamental to his or her continuing education:
    - b) to develop and maintain confidence and a sense of self-worth.
    - c) to gain the knowledge and acquire the attitudes that he or she needs for active participation in Canadian society.
    - d) develop the moral and aesthetic sensitivity necessary for a complete and reasonable life.
  - no school may advocate or promote racial or ethnic superiority, or religious intolerance, or social change through violence.
7. To promote the general welfare of this Society and of independent schools and colleges in the Province of Alberta and in Canada.
