NEW TO THE POSITION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOL PRINCIPAL?
AISCA is here to help!
WHO? Any new principal or assistant principal new to their position in independent schools. Principals in their second year, whether they attended last August or not, are most welcome since the group benefits from hearing about their experiences.
WHAT? The New Principal Retreat hosted by AISCA has become a yearly opportunity for the AISCA Board, Staff and Alberta Education officials to welcome new administrators and assistant principals to their positions in independent schools. It introduces them to the advocacy role that AISCA plays in government relations and introduces them to key support services AISCA provides for Independent School Boards, administrators and teachers. It also provides a very helpful overview of Alberta Education planning and reporting requirements.
WHEN? Thursday, August 15th (4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) & Friday, August 16th, 2018 (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
WHERE? The Best Western Port O’Call
1935 McKnight Blvd NE Calgary, AB
McKnight Ballroom Lower level
WHY? New Principals will benefit immensely from attending this orientation. Some spots will be reserved for assistant principals who work with Alberta Education’s Planning and Reporting requirements and who supervise and evaluate teachers.
